Therapeutic Services

For children who are working on early communication and developmental milestones, behavioral therapy can provide a beneficial structure.

My specialty and experience within this age group includes

• Functional Communication Training

  • Experience and access to multiple AAC platforms (LAMP, TD SNAP, Touch Chat with WordPower)

  • Experience with low tech AAC

• Early developmental milestones

  • targeted through structured behavioral assessment

• Early social emotional and play skills

• Pre-academic and school readiness 

• Reinforcement with building routines, daily living skills, emotional regulation and self advocacy

For children with intensive communication and/or sensory needs, a certified Occupational Therapist or Speech and Language Pathologist may be consulted in development of the treatment targets and appropriate supports. Consent will be obtained prior to any consultation with an outside professional.

Services can be home or community based

For children in Kindergarten - 6th grade therapy goals may begin targeting higher level learning and problem solving skills. 

My specialty and experience within this age group includes

• Functional Communication Training

  • increased emphasis on self-advocacy and conflict resolution 

• Early academic skills taught through direct instruction with systematic error correction

• Development of self-management and executive functioning skills including emotional regulation. 

• IEP Advocacy services- school coordination

  • Support in advocating for appropriate IEP goals, Least Restrictive Environments, and accommodations and modifications within the school setting. Frontline involvement in school based teams typically is guided by the parents rights as members of the IEP team as outlined in the Ohio Procedural Safeguards.

  • *These services are provided and informed via information and training as an Ohio Intervention Specialist, not all services discussed within IEP planning may be directly behavioral

Services can be Home based, community based, and/or telehealth when appropriate

For teens and young adults entering the workforce, behavioral therapy and behavioral skills training can be a valuable tool for developing both entry level work skills and soft skills required for a successful career. 

Work Based Learning and Career Skills Training services typically include:

• Behavioral Skills Training for specific job tasks (for individuals already employed needing support) 

• Career Skills tele-health course with 13 weekly lessons

  • designed to be completed prior to obtaining a paid position

  • Goals can be targeted individually through mastery following completion of the course with additional 1:1 sessions.

• Individualized goals will be established prior to choosing path/approach.

Services are provided in community based settings or within a telehealth model when appropriate.
